Lead valleys and flashings

When correctly installed, lead flashings and valleys should work effectively for many years. Sometimes there can be a natural failure of the lead or splitting can sometimes occur with age.

Lead comes in a range of thicknesses and this will also impact on the life of the leadwork. Like any metal when exposed to sunlight, lead is susceptible to thermal movement.

To prolong the life of the leadwork on your house, we recommend regularly checking valleys for build-up of natural debris and remove if present. Any failure in lead can lead to water leakages. Hidden leaks can lead to further damage.
